Developer’s Note : Introducing Episode 3
Introducing some features of episode 3
In episode 2 we introduced a desert map with a day and night cycle. For this episode we wanted to bring another feature. But first, here are some illustrations.
Episode 3 will be staged in an area called the Foggy Plateau, where there is four towering mountains in the middle of the sea. Each mountain is connected with bridges and combat will be done while moving betwen each mountains and also within tunnels inside.
The path up to each summit is like the illustration above. Some of the pathes are very narrow and thus will be designed for the players to be able to utilize the terrain for combat. Not only will the terrain provide new means of combat but also new methods for moving between each summit.
Next we have some monsters from the Foggy Plateau.
Now, there is a winged monster in the batch showed but no need to get worried about it because it will just be adrift a little above the ground like a wisp.
We recieved a lot of feedback and comments on episode 2 and we were able to work on episode 3 based on this.
While moving between maps there will be non-boss monsters with special patterns and those that revive after being killed. In order to improve gaming experience treasure maps from normal monsters will be removed and the zone will be designed to give players an easier time moving between maps.
It has been quite a time since I have participated in episode development since Sigrint and the cursed pirates but I hope the efforts put in with the thought of what would give players an awesome gaming experience will have payed off.
Episode 3 will soon be revealed on the test server with more features than what was revealed in this developer’s note so look forward to it!
[there also was a hint of there being a monster named after the (not-so-flattering) nickname players gave director Han Jae Ho.]
